Halloween is my favorite holiday!  I know there’s not much to the holiday, you don’t get presents, you don’t get a huge meal where you can sit and watch football after, and there certainly isn’t any eggs hidden in the oven but you do get to do fun events like these during the Halloween season!!

Today and every Saturday night in Lewiston you can take part if the Marble Orchard Ghost Walks.  This event is for the ghost lover in each of us!  During the walk you’ll be able to step back in time with their costumed guides that will take you on a walk to explore the grim and ghastly deeds of Lewiston’s secret tales!  This will seriously make your skin crawl as they tell you all of the local ghost stories and tales of tragedy, crime and murder that has happened in Lewiston.  Even though most of the tales the guide tells you happened years ago most of the ghosts in the stories still haunt Lewiston so keep an eye out for them!!  I’ve tried this walk and I have to say I was on the edge listening to their stories.  Even if you don’t see a ghost it’s a fun filled adventure where you’ll get to learn about Lewiston’s rough and tumble frontier past.  The event happens rain or shine tonight and every Saturday night from 7 to 9pm.  The walk will begin in the courtyard.

This weekend and next weekend at the Buffalo Zoo is their Howl-O-Ween Hayrides.  I’ve gone to this year in the past and I will say the little kids love it!   It’s the 15th year for the event and each year they go all out.  Everyone will get a chance to enjoy the treat station that are set up at each animal house,  hayrides, games for the kids, and of course there will be apple cider and donuts!  What kind of Halloween party will it be if there wasn’t apple cider and donuts!  Along with that the Zoo does encourage the children to come dressed up in their Halloween costume because during the event they can join in on the costume parade!  The evening will offer an early, safe, and fun Halloween experience for kids of all ages.  Howl-O-Ween Hayrides at the Buffalo Zoo is open this weekend and next weekend from 4:30pm to 7pm.
