Deadpool is such a pop culture sensation that even Good Housekeeping — yes, as in the magazines your grandmother often has stacked on her doily-covered end table — is getting in on the action. The Merc With a Mouth is the special guest editor for the magazine’s upcoming holiday issue, which is, uh, stuffed with all kinds of delicious Deadpool-ized recipes and tips.
It’s a touching, familiar scenario: a young person coping with a grave illness has their wish granted and gets to meet the actors who play their favorite comic book heroes on the big screen. Sometimes, they get to see a new movie before anyone else, and while our hearts are warmed by the photos and stories about it, we tend to forget why they were treated to a special private screening of The Force Awakens or, in this case, Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds has written an incredibly moving tribute to the memory of his friend, 13-year-old Connor McGrath, a Deadpool fan who has sadly lost his battle with cancer.
As we previously told you, Deadpool has not one, but two post-credits scene. One of them has been shown at the various promotional and press screenings around the company. The other has been kept under wraps, only to be revealed when the film opens in theaters this Friday. But if you absolutely cannot wait another second, we have the details for you right now.
Fox has yet to officially green light the X-Force film, but if Deadpool does as well as early tracking suggests (promo screening buzz has been pretty positive from general audiences) and if Ryan Reynolds has his way, it won’t be long before we see the Merc With a Mouth team up with the X-Force for his own superhero team movie. Given Reynolds’ success in getting a proper Deadpool adaptation off the ground, this seems fairly likely.
Following in the footsteps of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Deadpool is another wildly profane and gleefully violent film hitting theaters in February, hoping to attract a very similar audience. And as this new clip proves, the Merc With a Mouth’s solo outing has something else in common with Kingsman: a female lead who makes a joke about anal. Out of context, it’s hard to tell if this joke succeeds as planned, but this brief scene does show off some of the chemistry between Ryan Reynolds and Morena Baccarin.
The Warner Brothers film "The Green Lantern" starring Ryan Reynolds hit the theatre over the weekend. In our earlier posts, we were eager and curious to see if it was going to be a hit or not. The film brought in an estimated $52.6 million over the weekend and did happen to be number one at the box office...
Is it just me, or does this new 'Green Lantern' film from Warner Brothers look brutal? It seems as though only true comic book fans even know the story of the Green Lantern. Since I am not one of those people, allow me to fill you in.
Man, do I feel old. My intern Melanie doesn't know who the Green Lantern is. He's only the most powerful superhero in the Universe, Melanie! When given the power of the ring, nobody, not even Superman or the Hulk could defeat the Lantern!!! Unfortunately, the ring didn't come with a manual and when it runs out of power our hero is more like the Greatest American Hero.
