Tom Holland has officially taken up the Spider-Man mantle for Marvel and Sony, but he’ll never replace Tobey Maguire in the deepest, web-covered corners of our hearts. Following his debut in Captain America: Civil War, the consensus among fans and critics alike is that Holland makes for a fantastic Spidey. You might even say he’s an…amazing…Spider-Man. And it looks like he has one very awesome fan in particular who knows a thing or two about web-slinging.
Even the films that are considered “lesser” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Thor, Ant-Man) still tend to generate some positive buzz, though most fans would agree that the Captain America films are superior — and Winter Soldier is almost unanimously revered as the best of the bunch. So it’s not quite surprising that early word on Civil War is good, but the reactions so far are overwhelmingly positive, especially when it comes to that new Spider-Man.
When Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios agreed on a deal to essentially share Spider-Man, the first thing they decided on was that he would be formally introduced in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. After all, if you’re going to have a deal with Marvel, you might as well take advantage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and their many characters...
