You Could Get a $4,000 Travel Tax Credit In Next Stimulus Package

There's been a lot of momentum for a second stimulus package for Americans, that could come at the end of July.

But did you know it could also come with a $4,000 travel tax credit!?

According to WGRZ, President Donald Trump has brought up a "Explore America Tax Credit."

The "Explore America" tax credit would help with domestic travel and used for restaurants, which would put money back into businesses hurt by the pandemic.

The president didn't put an exact number on the tax credit but multiple news outlets reported that it would be $4,000 per household.

"An ‘Explore America’ tax credit and campaign will do wonders to put America back on the path to prosperity. We applaud the president’s support, and with our industry’s health and safety guidance for the reopening of travel businesses in place, we are very prepared to work with the administration to push the effort forward at the right time," Travel Association CEO Roger Dow said in a statement last month after Trump's remarks."

There's no timetable on when or if this tax credit would be approved by Congress, or if that second stimulus package will be approved as well.

Fingers crossed they do -- it would help out the businesses severely hurt by the pandemic.
