Talk about your crash diet.

A Seattle woman has begun an unusual experiment in which she will try to live on only light, water and tea.

Navenna Shine has already gone a month with the new eating regimen and plans to keep it up for a total of four to six months. She’s following a relatively unknown group of Yogis, who have allegedly lived on light. They are typically “breatharians” for their ability to get by on air and sunshine.

Shine is the founder of Living on Light, which seeks to:

bring into our Universe a whole different paradigm of living. In this paradigm of living, human beings do not have to eat or ingest any kind of food into their stomachs in order to thrive in this world.

At 'Living On Light' we propose that we have a nutritional source already embedded within our body/mind/Spiritual systems that can give us exactly what we need to be healthy and well.”

Shine has already dropped more than 20 pounds. And to make sure she doesn’t give in to temptation she has cameras in her house to keep tabs on her.

Shine seems to be aware of the enormity of her undertaking, saying, “I have the feeling that my body has reached a point where it has used up all its stored fats and is now looking around for what next to consume. I suspect this might be the point where it decides either to find and hook into the source where it is able to live on Light, or consume the body for sustenance.”

Shine, whose last name certainly indicates she’s suited for living by the sun, is treading a slippery slope. It’s been reported that several breatharians have died while trying to subsist on light.
