Woman Accused of Trying to Poison Trump Arrested in WNY

The woman accused of trying to poison President Trump has been arrested in WNY at the Peace Bridge.

A woman who authorities suspect sent an evelope containing the poison ricin to President Donald Trump, has been arrested in Western New York at the Peace Bridge. According to WIVB, the letter was addressed to the White House, but was caught before it actually reached it. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the letter came from Canada. A facility that specifically inspects mail addressed to the White House and Trump intercepted it after it tested positive for ricin.

"Ricin is a poison that can be made from the waste left over from processing castor beans. Ricin can potentially be used as a biological weapon. It can be turned into an aerosol and inhaled. It can also be ingested from poisoned food or a contaminated water supply or injected." ~ Mayo Clinic

The woman's name has not been released yet. She was taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers while she was trying to cross the Peace Bridge in Buffalo. She is facing federal charges for sending the letter. She may be facing a few decades behind bars. Back in 2014, a man who sent letters containing ricin to then President, Barack Obama, was sentenced to 25 years behind bars.
