If you live in the southern tier, be ready for the first snowfall of the year!

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the southern tier from 8 p.m. on Saturday until 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Anywhere from 3-6 inches is possible, it could vary a bit depending on where you live. Many will see 1-3 inches.

According to WIVB Weather, the system that comes into WNY early Saturday evening will start out as rain but switch to mixed precipitation and even full on snow in the southern tier, that will pick up early Sunday morning.

The metro shouldn't see any accumulation, perhaps a dusting at the most by the weather models.

I always say that once we hit November, all bets are off. Winter weather shouldn't be shock to the system and that winter weather machine is getting ready. Away we go!
