You might have heard snow was coming but now a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Southern Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties from 8 p.m. tonight until 1 p.m. Sunday, according to WIVB Weather.

Lake effect rain will shift over to snow after 8 pm tonight, mainly away from the immediate Lakeshore areas.

The lake effect band is expected to bring a couple of inches of snow to Southern Erie and Wyoming counties, before shifting to Chautauqua and Cattaraugus later tonight. The winds will keep the threat for lake effect snow around until Sunday.

Accumulations might be as high as 6 inches across the higher terrain.
