Just about this time of the year, high school seniors are finalizing exactly where they want to head to college this Fall. Well 5,000 of them may have gotten some horrible news over the weekend – that the acceptance letter they got from UB last week was actually a mistake.

"School officials said the mistake was made when an incorrect email list was generated from an applicant database. Within three to four hours of the discovery, the applicants were emailed a letter of explanation. including the University’s sincerest apologies", according to WIVB.

Many were given their financial aid letter and that was followed up by a letter that the acceptance letter was a mistake. UB did their best to contact each as soon as possible; some even found out just hours later that it was a mistake.
