Watching the news last night we saw students from numerous schools across Western New York talk about the safety of their schools and today some of those districts will see walk outs in the middle of school.

Buffalo, Batavia, Niagara Falls, Hamburg and Clarence are among those that students will walk out during the school day.

Clarence High School even offered guidelines to help ensure the safety of the students when they walk out of school at 10 AM. Police officers will be on hand to make sure that everyone is safe.

The walkout will last 17 minutes to commemorate the 17 kids who lost their lives in the violent gun shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. It was the deadliest school shooting since 2012.

If you are not someone associated with the schools:

Organizers are asking people not affiliated with a school to stay clear of the walkouts. Those interested in standing in solidarity with students should wear orange or walk out of work for 17 minutes", according to WIVB.
