Because sometimes the only thing to beat the heat on a summer evening is some local brews, we headed over to Yelp.com to see what Yelp users think are the BEST breweries in Buffalo! But we want to know what YOU think too! Tell us what your favorite brewery is in the comments below.

  • Big Ditch Brewing Company, 4.5 Stars

    55 E Huron St Buffalo, NY 14203

“I personally loved the vanilla oatmeal stout, great taste too it!" a Yelp user wrote.

“I haven't had a beer there I didn't like and their cinnamon apple beer was the best beer I have ever had," another user wrote.

  • Community Beer Works, 4.5 Stars

15 Lafayette Ave Buffalo, NY 14213

" This is definitely a very simple brewery but they have some really interesting brews on tap no doubt. Their Seasonal Creep: Smoke brew was an interesting brew for sure. Just go and check out what they have on tap that day as their selection frequently changes," a Yelp reviewer wrote.

" All of  CBW's brews were true to their styles. The surprise star which was the Frank, an American Pale Ale. I've heard mixed reviews of it, and I'm not usually a big fan of APAs, but I found it tasty. The IPA is definitely a standout. It had a nice citrusy bite to it with some complexity. The Whale was a very good interpretation of an English brown ale. Very smooth with some chocolate and coffee flavor," another Yelp user wrote.

  • Resurgence Brewing, 4 Stars

1250 Niagara St Buffalo, NY 14213

"home-craft brews such as the Summer Saison, Loganberry Wit, and Sponge Candy Stout, and needless to say they're just as tasty as they sound," a reviewer wrote.

"My favorite of the night was the Resurgence IPA which seemed really fresh with tons of resin and piney hop aroma mixed with some citrus fruits and a good malt backing. The loganberry wit and spongecandy stout both sound a bit gimmicky, but I love the play on these two WNY food staples," another user wrote.

  • Flying Bison Brewing

840 Seneca St Buffalo, NY 14210

"One word of advice is to sample something besides the Rusty Chain brew since you can easily find that in all the local bars and restaurants. Instead I personally recommend the Blackbird Stout which was my favorite beer of the night but it all depends on your personal taste of course," a user wrote on Yelp.

  • Old First Ward Brewing

"..I absolutely loved their 'Hopster IPA" and the "H.O. Oats" stout (and props to the creative flight holder that resembled a steel bridge)," a Yelp user wrote.

"On any given day, you'll find four Old First Ward Brewery beers on tap, now comprising about half the draught beers they serve.  In many ways, this is admirable, but there is a consequence to this.  Previously, McCarthy's had rotated seasonal beers from the best breweries in the northeast.  A bit of Captain Lawrence, a bit of Ithaca, a bit of Stone, a regular dose of Ommegang, and so forth," another user wrote.
