I've been proud to be a part of the Save The Rhinos event for the last couple years, but this year they're changing formats a bit and they're taking it to the streets.

The "Save The Rhinos" event used to be a bowling event that the Buffalo Zoo would put on to raise money for awareness and rhino conservation around the world.  We would bowl, eat, take part in raffles and just have a ton of fun.

But obviously, because of the pandemic, in order to stop the spread of COVID-19, it's not a safe idea to gather in large groups and bowl.  So this year, it's become a virtual fun run.

It's a virtual 5k that you can do wherever you're comfortable.  Want to run a trail or the treadmill in your basemen?  No problem!

Get your family, friends, colleagues and neighbors together and then get signed up here.  They will mail you a packet with a t-shirt and a custom Run for Rhinos virtual bib.  The first 500 registrants will receive an Oxford Pennant Run for Rhinos Pennant!

This year, proceeds will go to help fund Sumatran Rhino Rescue.

Packet pickup will take place:

September 18 @ Buffalo Zoo - near Front Entrance in the Parking Lot; 1pm-2:30pm
October 9 @ Buffalo Zoo - near Front Entrance in the Parking Lot; 1pm-2:30pm
October 30 @  Buffalo Zoo - near Front Entrance in the Parking Lot; 1pm-2:30pm
November 6 @ Buffalo Zoo - near Front Entrance in the Parking Lot; Time TBA

They ask that you share your run photos with them on social media using the hashtag #RunForRhinos
