With a powerful, category 2 hurricane approaching, the Carolina's and surrounding states are preparing for the worst. It won't just affected business and homes it will also affect farms!

According to reports, some of the nation's largest turkey producers are in the path of Hurricane Florence.

Many of Butterball's processing plants, hatcheries and feed mills are right in the storm's projected path.   According to the National Turkey Federation, stores will try to stock more frozen turkeys to help to offset some of the projected shortage.

That being said, the cost of your Thanksgiving dinner may be more expensive with a shortage of turkeys. It may be a good idea to plan a ahead and buy this week and keep the bird in the freezer. Or purchase a turkey from a local producer here in Western New York!
