He's no Brad Richards, but Ville Leino is another solid acquistion for the Buffalo Sabres, who made yet another move just one day into the free agent period. The signing leaves the Sabres about $5 million under the cap, so a move for Richards is unlikely unless the team sheds some salary. One could argue that the Sabres overpaid for the forward who's only scored 30 goals in the NHL and the player doesn't address the Sabres biggest need, a number one center. Leino is naturally a left winger. On the other hand, at 27, Leino is entering the prime of his career and had a solid season and playoffs for the Flyers, which the Sabres learned first hand when Leino had 3 goals and 2 assists for the Flyers in eliminating the blue and gold. What do you think of the signing?
