We just got word that the long-awaited Freddie Mercury film is on hold. Now comes a hint that a major studio is looking at scripts for a film based on the ups and downs and ups of Aerosmith.
It may have taken them 25 years to do it, but it finally happened. On Sept. 5, 1998, Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. It remains the group's only No. 1 single.
While Aerosmith fans settle in and wait for their next album of new material, they can pass the time with 'Rock for the Rising Sun,' a just-released live DVD that, as guitarist Brad Whitford sees it, offers the culmination of a long love affair between the band and its Japanese fans.
Between Aerosmith projects and his long-in-the-works debut solo album, Steven Tyler has a busy year ahead. But he's also making time to go back under the knife.
'Rock for the Rising Sun,' the upcoming live DVD and Blu-ray from Aerosmith, will include many of the band's classic songs. The recently released track listing, which you can see below, reveals a set of 16 Aerosmith favorites. The DVD will also feature plenty of behind-the-scenes footage from the band's tour of Japan in 2011. The disc comes out on July 22.
Aerosmith once pointed out that falling in love is hard on the knees. But for one unlucky construction worker, a job at frontman Steven Tyler's home recently turned out to be hard on a whole bunch of different body parts.
