The winds are really bad right now across Western New York. Thousands of people are without power across the region.

According to Erie County Executive, Mark Poloncarz, over 10,000 people across Erie County are without power, with the northtowns among those hardest hit so far.

The stretch of Transit Road by the Eastern Hills Mall lost power and it was quite the site for cars driving by.

National Grid and NYSEG are currently working through the night to restore anyone who loses power.

The winds are expected to stay the strongest until 6 am. The winds will remain pretty consistent through Friday evening however, according to WGRZ. Gusts will still be 30-40 mph.
