A few months back, and for a full day -- the Skyway was closed to traffic for a commercial shoot for the app Waze, reports WGRZ.

And while Buffalo Police were paid $4,675 in overtime for the shoot, New York State only received $25 from the permit to close the Skyway for an entire day.

WGRZ reports: "Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark told 2 On Your Side before the shoot that it would be priceless for the region due to the exposure from the commercial.

"It's going to show Western New York and our city skyline really all over the world in a great carpooling sort of public service message," Clark said."
