Shop Local This Season At These Holiday Shopping Events In Western New York

Because we know you're just getting started with your shopping this year.

I know you're reading this and counting down how many shopping days there are left until Christmas. Don't panic: In addition to online sites, area malls and department stores, there are oodles of local shopping events happening throughout the month. And honestly, what's better than picking up a great gift while supporting the local community?

Check out the events, see where they're located on the map and get goin'!

When: December 5, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Where: Grant Street, Buffalo
This event features many of the shops, restaurants and services on Grant Street. Free activities include holiday movies at the Grant Street Neighborhood Center and Aed 100's Contemporary Tea Ceremony at the Buffalo State Community Academic Center. There's even an afterparty at Gypsy Parlor!

When: December 6, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.; December 7, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

When: December 6 - 7, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Response to Love Center, Buffalo

There will be in-store specials, holiday items, food samples and refreshments.

Handmade crafts and items will be available, as well as an eat-in or takeout lunch and a bake sale. There will be over 30 vendors with all types of products, including handmade jewelry, textiles, soaps, wreaths, magnets, ornaments, purses, intarsia wood art and much, much more.

When: December 7, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: VFW Post Harvey D. Morin, West Seneca

When: December 7, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Karpelles Manuscript Library, Buffalo
This event will feature a lot of local vendors, selling either handmade or vintage items. Each vendor was handpicked to guarantee a wide selection of goods, including jewelry, ceramics, vintage clothing and housewares, local foods and much more!

When: December 7, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Along Main Street, Williamsville
Stroll along Main Street for special shopping and dining in the holiday spirit.

When: December 7 and 8, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Heim Middle and Elementary Schools, Williamsville
Support local artisans, hobbyists and students. Find handcrafted gifts at 140+ booths in two buildings -- something for every age group, interest and budget! You'll find knits, linens, jewelry, home décor, photographs, foods, toys, pet items and more. Refreshments will also be available from student service groups.

From spa-quality bath products to hand-poured aromatic candles, holiday décor to trendsetting jewelry, hand-blown glass sculpture to gourmet foods, elegant florals to pet gifts, handcrafted furniture to original wall art, Yuletide in the Country offers a remarkable cross-section of gift ideas.

Christmas Bazaar

When: December 8, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Ukrainian Orthodox Hall, Cheektowaga
This is an annual Christmas Bazaar, offering theme baskets and raffles. The kitchen will be serving ethnic food and pastries.

When: December 8, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Hamburg Knights of Columbus, Hamburg
Check out this vendor/craft show with 30+ local vendors and a Chinese auction for charity!

When: December 8, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Where: Shorewood Country Club, Dunkirk
Find unique holiday shopping, handcrafted and specialty items, purses, belts, pillows, jewelry, photography and paintings -- plus luncheon specials in the restaurant.

When: December 13, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.; December 14, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Holiday Open House

When: December 14
Where: Creation Station Artists' Gallery & Gift Shop, Dunkirk/Fredonia
You'll find several artists under one roof selling hand-painted ornaments, stained glass, pottery, jewelry, painted mailboxes, beach glass, wine racks and other unique gifts.

When: Every Saturday until December 21, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Crossroads Farm & Craft Market, Westfield
