Sabres rookie forward Victor Olofsson was a leading candidate for the Calder Trophy this season (voted to the NHL's top rookie) but that might be in jeopardy now.

Olofsson will be out of the Sabres lineup for five-to-six weeks with a lower-body injury. Olofsson was hurt during the third period of Thursday night's win against the Edmonton Oilers.

The Swedish forward has scored 16 goals and 35 points in 42 games this season.

Olofsson has been the best part of the Sabres season, outside of Jack Eichel, so this is a huge blow for the Sabres and their playoff hopes.
