Here we go again.  The Buffalo Sabres announced today that they have let General Manager Tim Murray and Head Coach Dan Bylsma go.  Clearly the Pegulas don't mess around!

For a franchise that went 17 years with the same GM/Coach (Darcy Regier/Lindy Ruff), they sure have gone through a lot of changes since.  This isn't a complete shock as it was reported earlier this week that superstar Jack Eichel was not happy playing for Dan Bylsma, and with no wins to save his job, the writing was on the wall.

More of a surprise is that GM Tim Murray went with him.  Obviously they are connected since Tim hired Dan, but the nail in the coffin was watching rival team Toronto do their rebuild in 1 season and make the playoffs while we have now suffered through several losing seasons.

I am fine with Dan leaving, the team didn't take any steps forward in terms of winning or even player development for that matter.  I am a little sad to see Tim Murray go.  He was the quirkiest General Manager in all of sports, and his uncomfortable weirdness made him fun to watch.  You just wanted to hear what he was going to say next!

So now we start (another) new chapter in Sabres history, and hopefully this one is a much better book.  We should be watching playoff hockey right now and not reorganizing our franchise again.  How are both of our home town teams always in this position??  It might be time to find a better author, good luck Sabres.
