It appears that closure will go on longer.

According to WGRZ,  a report from CTV News in Toronto says that Canada and the United States are expected to extend existing border restrictions until November.

The border closure is set to expire this Monday, September 21st.

CTV News reports that sources are telling them the border restrictions will remain in place until they feel the pandemic is "under control."

Essential travel is still permitted to cross the border, along with family members of Canadian residents. They must stay in the country for two weeks after visiting, however.

The office of Congressman Brian Higgins says they are attempting to find out more information about this possible extension.
