This year the greatest pumpkin weighed in at over a ton.

Karl Haist of Clarence Center's 2,269 pound pumpkin took first place, and set a new record at the Great Pumpkin Farm, according to WGRZ. Haist was the first-place winner last year.

WGRZ reports, "Andy Wolf of Little Valley took second place with a pumpkin that weighed 1,911.5 pounds. Wolf went home with $1,500, plus an extra $1,000 for having a pumpkin weighing more than 1,900 pounds. Third place went to Tim Bailey from Jamestown with a pumpkin that weighed in at 1,604 pounds, winning him $1,000."
