We want the people of Newtown, Conn. to know that we share their sorrow and wish them well. From the looks of things, know they will!

Above are just a few pictures from yesterday's (December 18) time at the Walden Galleria, where WBLK, WYRK, 96.1 Joy FM and 92.9 Jack FM are working together to bring some comfort to Newtown.

In the couple hours I spent at the Galleria yesterday, my heart was touched more than a few times. From the small child who cared enough to send her best wishes, to the gentleman who took his hat off before he signed, to the Buffalo Bill who stopped by with his young one to show their support.

Channel 4 even stopped by:

The experience is very bittersweet because it's a beautiful thing to see people from all walks of life come together as a community, but the reason it's happening is heart-breaking. Those 20 children were sons, daughters, siblings (one of them was a twin!), nieces, nephews, friends, etc., and now their memories must live on. It's our job as citizens of our America to keep those memories alive and do our part.

As small as the gesture may seem, you may make someone's day. In times of tragedy, it's so easy to feel like you're alone, even when you're surrounded with people. Sometimes the random stranger's effort to heal means more.

Never underestimate the power of prayer and love.

We'll be at the Walden Galleria until 9 p.m. tonight (December 19) with more banners for you to sign, so if you'd like to send some love to the good people of Newtown, please come down and do so!
