We're just about three weeks away from Halloween and I don't know about anyone else, but I've already had my fair share of candy.

But what is America's favorite candy? How about New York State?

Well, according to CandyStore.com, the top Halloween candy in 2019 is Skittles...barely edging out Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Not that surprising.

As for New York, well, that one is a little more surprising...it's Hot Tamales?

No, really! Here's how CandyStore.com got their results.

"We looked at 12 years of sales data (2007-2018), looking in particular at the months leading up to Halloween. We sell nationwide (and to Canada) so we broke down our sales by state. We also have relationships with major candy manufacturers and distributors – all of whom contributed and helped us reach our conclusions."

The website also gave some pretty cool facts about Halloween, including the fact that over 50% of parents say they stash away some of their kids candy for the rest of the year!

The website's map is interactive -- so you can scroll through each state.

I'm not sold on Hot Tamales being our most popular, however. Personally, my favorites are Reese's, 3 Musketeers, Twix and Starbursts!
