New Indoor Recreation Center Opening at Walden Galleria

Initially delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, the Urban Air Adventure Park is set to welcome visitors next week.

The facility is big -- 46,000-square-feet featuring bumper cars, trampolines, a Skyrider zipline, and obstacle and ropes courses. There is also a restaurant on side with plans to host birthday parties.

There will be a soft opening and food drive on Oct. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m., where you can take a look at the space. Urban Air is all-ages, and is located on the mall's upper level near DSW. Advance reservations are required at their website.

The park had to submit COVID-19 safety plans to New York State and work out permission with the Town of Cheektowaga in order to open, reports the Buffalo News. 

"They reviewed our NYS plan that was submitted, confirmed we will employ stringent safety procedures that ensure the safety of our team members, guests and community," said franchisee Rachelle Nurse, in an email.

Guests and staff will be subject to temperature checks, and the park will "clean hourly, provide extra sanitization stations, limit capacity on attractions, offer cashless food service, require social distancing, require staff to wear masks and sell masks to guests," according to the Buffalo News.
