As of today, 36 states and two territories are on the New York State travel advisory list. Anyone (excluding essential employees) who travels to a state on the travel advisory list must quarantine for 14 days upon return. Fines could be faced if not followed.

According to WKBW, the initiative will vary from airport to airport but this will start today, according to a spokesperson from the New York National Guard.

There's no timetable on when the National Guard will be at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, but they will be in uniform, just not armed.

The National Guard's priorities will be to collect travel information from people returning at airports, while the Department of Health can focus on other duties.

The travel advisory list changes frequently, so it's best to keep up to date on which states are currently on the travel advisory list for New York State.
