Buffalo is known nationwide for its St. Patrick's Day celebrations.  The Old First Ward Parade to be held Saturday and the City's Official Parade scheduled for Delaware Avenue on Sunday have both been canceled.

Mayor Brown was quoted as saying...It wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right decision.

Both parades have been attended by an estimated 50,000 people yearly.

Today's announcement follows parade cancelations in Rochester, Albany, Pittsburgh, New York City, Chicago and Cleveland.
