A data breach has occurred at University of Buffalo that could affect thousands of accounts at the largest school in the SUNY system. Cyber security is a hot topic and is starting to hit close to home for many Western New Yorkers.

According to a report from Metro Source Networks:

... it was reported that thousands of external third-party accounts were affected campus-wide.  This affected mostly students but also faculty and alumni accounts.  A university official says the login information could have been exposed by entering credentials at a non-UB website.

The Spectrum, independent news source for the Univeristy of Buffalo, also reported that:

Students, alumni, faculty and staff can change their password online or in person at the two UBIT help centers or at 1Capen through May 22.
