According to WGRZ, via the Associated Press, the NFL has offered to scrap the entire preseason to the NFLPA. The player's association was seeking to eliminate the preseason this season.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network and NFL.com on Tuesday evening, the NFLPA call with players on Tuesday night confirmed there will be no preseason games this season.

Another part of the negotiations is potentially offering players the option to not play and opt-out (receiving a stipend). If games are lost.

On Monday, the league said that players will be tested daily for COVID-19 for at least the first two weeks of training camp.

The hope is to gradually reduce testing as players continue to test negative for coronavirus. If the positivity rate of those tests falls below 5% among players, testing would go to every other day.

If the preseason is scrapped, which looks likely, it would hurt rookies and bubble players trying to make the Bills roster. They would have to impress in training camp to make the team, but the elimination of preseason games makes sense given the health concerns.
