Lenny Kravitz joined Katy Perry for an amped up version of her 2008 hit 'I Kissed a Girl' at halftime of Super Bowl XLIX at Glendale, Ariz. The guest appearance was brief, however, as Kravitz disappeared for Perry's next number, 'Teenage Dream.'

Kravitz has long paid tribute to classic rock, both within his core sound and through notable covers like Guess Who’s 'American Woman' from back in 1999 and, more recently, 'Get Back' by the Beatles on the David Letterman show. Kravitz wrote 'Line Up' for Steven Tyler, and appeared on Mick Jagger's solo album 'Wandering Spirit.'

There were other classic rock connections during tonight's game between New England and Seattle.

The Patriots' initial player introductions, for instance, were made to the accompaniment of 'Crazy Train' by Ozzy Osbourne, while the Seahawks entered the University of Phoenix Stadium to 'Bittersweet Symphony' by the Verve -- which featured a sample from Andrew Loog Oldham's orchestral version of 'The Last Time' by the Rolling Stones.

Tyler and Paul McCartney were also in the stands for the game.
