Nice sunshine on Tuesday but it won't last for long.

According to the National Weather Service, a band of lake effect snow will impact the Buffalo metro tonight and Wednesday morning.

According to WIVB, 2-4 inches of snow is expected around the Buffalo metro with 1-2 inches around Grand Island and Tonawanda. A couple more inches is expected in the southern tier. Winds will also be strong with the lake effect snow, as usual.

The band will sink south into ski country by later Wednesday, and there's also a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Southern Erie, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Wyoming Counties from 10 am on Wednesday to 10 am on Thursday.

The evening drive tonight and morning commute on Wednesday will be slick so take some extra time.
