Jacktivities For The Foodie In All Of Us!

This weekend is all about the FOOD!!! Seriously after this weekend who really will be putting that bikini on again!!  Forget the diets and pig out on some amazing food!

First of all this weekend you cannot miss out on the National Buffalo Wing Festival.  I know all of us born and raised here now we have the best wings in the world but if you are not from Buffalo this is something you have to experience.  So many amazing chicken wings all in one place!  My suggestion is to stop eating now so you have plenty of room in your stomach!  The Wing Festival runs today till 9p and tomorrow from 12p to 7 at Coca Cola Field in Buffalo.  You’ll have the chance to sample chicken wings from local and national restaurants, check out some live music and the contest that take place on the main stage.  Along with that they even set up a kid’s zone!  If you are going tomorrow make sure you get there in time for the US Professional Wing Eating Championship.  It’s pretty impressive to watch.

Keeping food in mind, head out today for the Beer and Bacon Festival (seriously my 2 favorite things ever!!).  The event is happening over at Island Park on Main Street in Williamsville.  Guest can sample craft beer and mouth watering bacon dishes from local restaurants and vendors.  The Beer and Bacon Festival is all to help support the Breast Cancer Network of Western New York.

Then finally since you can never get enough food this weekend in Cheektowaga is the German American Heritage Festival.  I can say German is the best food ever but I’m a little biased since I’m German but if you don’t believe me go check it out yourself.  The festival is happening today and tomorrow from 12p to 10p both days at the Cheektowaga Town Park on Harlem Road.  Celebrate the German Culture with their 2 day festival.  You’ll experience traditional German music from groups like the Auslanders and the Frankfurters and once you’ve danced enough make sure you check out the amazing German Food they will serving up!

Oh and one last thing and I promise it doesn’t have to do with food.  This weekend is really the last weekend of summer.  After this fall is right around corner and I hate to say this but winter is not that far away.  Make sure you get out and enjoy the last few days we have by heading to the beach!  Tomorrow is our last Sunday Funday Patio Party at Mickey Rats and Captain Kids.  They have live music by Ultra Violet starting at 5 and then Black Widow at 10.  Along with that there are drink specials all weekend long.  Then head back on Labor Day and help Jack say Goodbye to Summer with the final party of the season.  We will doing the day up right with 5 bands playing all day and night with drink specials and giveaways all day.  Oh and we will finally be giving away that awesome Kim Co ATV worth $6000 from Don Georges Sport Center.  If you haven’t signed up get out there this weekend and do it before we pull the winner on Monday!  Help us say Goodbye to Summer this weekend at Mickey Rats and Captain Kids!
