Marvel's The Avengers is still killing it at the box office, but there's no rest for the wicked; work has already begun on Iron Man 3, and the rumor mill is churning. Today, the film's first official photo -- which shows Tony Stark admiring his best work, from Iron Man's Mach I to the suit he wears in The Avengers -- was released. Oh, Tony, when will you learn not to leave weapons of mass destruction laying around the house? If reports are true, the Iron Patriot, a super-villain who curated Stark's nano-technology in the name of patriotism, could have entered Stark Towers to obtain it. It seems like nobody has the ability to duplicate Stark's technology: Obadiah Stane stole it in the first film, Rhodey's War Machine grabbed the suit while Stark was suffering from some mild alcoholism in Iron Man 2, and S.H.E.I.L.D. has procured the Stark Tech to make weapons with the power of the Tesseract in The Avengers.

Other rumors have Iron Man facing a villain who becomes one with the technology when they inject into their body. Whatever happens, we know this tech shouldn't get in the wrong hands. Ben Kingsley is also a possible Stark antagonist, with the latest rumors casting him as Iron Man's greatest adversary, Mandarin.

It's a good time to be a comic book geek.
