WKBW is reporting that the Governor's office stated that bandanas and neck gaiters will not be accepted by the State as approve face coverings when you are working out.

The governor's office says acceptable face coverings for COVID-19 include, but are not limited to, cloth-based face coverings and disposable masks appropriate for exercise that cover both the mouth and nose.

Some other guidelines the state has issued for gyms and work out facilities include, operating at 33% capacity, special ventilation requirements and all gyms must first pass an inspection from the local government before they are allowed to have indoor classes

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said that the county has issued a blanket approval for all gyms in the area to re-open starting on August 24th.

Some area gyms put monthly membership payments on hold during New York On Pause so double-check with your gym if you don't plan on returning right away.
