The 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' series may be the new king of the hill in action video games, but this spring, an old friend returns and appears to be ready to reclaim its position as top dog. It's been over four years since we've seen a new 'Grand Theft Auto' game, and this spring, Rockstar Games returns with a new edition, 'Grand Theft Auto V'. Once again, it appears to take its cinematic story line to a new level with  the usual violence, foul language, sex and larceny beloved by its fans. Based in the fictional city of Los Santos, you'll be able to take on the role of three new characters: Michael, a career bank robber; Trevor, a volatile and destructive career criminal; and Franklin, a scam artist and repo guy.

The guys at Rockstar Games have always done an amazing job of storytelling in their 'Grand Theft Auto' series and don't mind taking years to produce the next installment to develop characters and story lines. Each installment, gamers anticipate who they might cast in starring roles or cameos along the way. Past games have featured Ray Liotta, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Busey, Burt Reynolds and Michael Madsen.

The 'GTA V' world promises to be bigger than ever, with improved character freedom and  multi-player online play -- and the soundtrack is usually pretty fun, too. (My favorite memory is still shooting people up in 'GTA: Vice City' to Foreigner's "Waiting for a Girl Like You.")

'GTA V' is expected to be released this spring and should become the top-selling video game of 2013.
