Google Celebrates Christmas and ‘Festivus’ With New Easter Eggs
In celebration of the most wonderful time of the year, Google recently added a brand new Easter egg for Christmas. But for those fed up with the over-commercialization of the holiday, there's also an homage to our favorite fake alternative -- Festivus.
Type "Christmas" into Google and you'll notice a string of colorful lights spanning the top of your search results. Now search for "Festivus," a faux holiday inspired by a classic 1997 episode of 'Seinfeld,' and you'll notice an aluminum Festivus pole.
Of course, in keeping with the tradition created by Frank Costanza, the pole is completely unadorned and features no "distracting" tinsel. It's the perfect centerpiece for, say, the holiday's "Airing of Grievances" and "Feats of Strength" wrestling match.
So, head over to Google now and try a search for "Christmas." Or, if you prefer a holiday "for the rest of us," try the fabricated alternative.
