Healthy Foods are often hard to come by on a daily basis at many school age children's homes.  Now that could be due to poor shopping choice son behalf of the child's parents, or, which is most often the case, affordability.

There's a program that purposely helps with respect to kids eating healthy called the Good Food Purchasing Program.  The Good Food Purchasing Program's Mission Statement is as follows: (according to the Good Food Purchasing Website)

The Program provides a metric based, flexible framework that encourages large institutions to direct their buying power toward five core values: local economies, environmental sustainability, valued workforce, animal welfare and nutrition. The Good Food Purchasing Program is the first procurement model to support these food system values in equal measure.

The Buffalo Public Schools have announced that they will adopt the Good Food Purchasing Program guidelines to form Good Food Buffalo in an effort to provide good healthy foods for Buffalo Public School children.

According to BuffaloRising.com, on April 24 at 5:30 pm, at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, 450 Masten Ave, Buffalo City Schools announced the beginning of their partnership with Good Food Buffalo.  The kickoff was Hosted by the Massachusetts Avenue Project and Partnership for the Public Good (PPG).
