Gas Prices Fall Below 80 Cents Per Gallon In The Southern Tier

When I saw this late on Thursday night, I didn't believe it...but yes, it's completely true!

According to the Salamanca Press, gas prices fell below 80 cents per gallon as a "gas prices war" raced through Salamanca on Thursday afternoon.

Some stations were offering gas prices as low as 71-75 cents per gallon, while one had gas as low as 68 cents per gallon!

I honestly have never seen gas prices this low in my lifetime. I vaguely remember gas prices being around $1.00 in the 90's, when I was a kid, but never this low.

Gas prices everywhere are plummeting with travel dropping drastically over the last few weeks in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We'll see how low gas prices in Erie County get. The prices by me in South Buffalo/West Seneca are about $2.25 per gallon.
