School is almost over and the summer is about to start and for a lot of parents that means that your teens are on the road more! Parents who worry about their children aren't alone in those feelings. WalletHub states that there are 226 auto-related teen deaths occurring every month and according to the CDC, motor-vehicle accidents are still the leading cause of death for persons 16 to 19, which is also the group with the highest risk of crashes.

To try and ease parents concerns, WalletHub has study each state and put together "2017's Best & Worst States for Teen Drivers." Obviously, this will only calm some parents anxieties but it will also give them an idea what their state offers and or lacks in when it comes to teenage drivers. WalletHub analysts compared all 50 states using the same metrics to determine the ranking. "The data set ranges from number of teen driver fatalities to average cost of car repairs to presence of impaired-driving laws."

So which state is the safest for teen drivers? New York.

Turns out New York ranked above average on almost all of the key metrics used in this study and that is great news for parents and teen drivers alike.
