The results are in from Election Day yesterday and one of the biggest most anticipated contests was the run for Mayor of Niagara Falls which has had the same Mayor for the past 12 years.  So this was a big deal.  Mayor Paul Dyster was elected Mayor in 2007 then reelected in 2011 and 2015 but has chosen to give up the seat and did not run in this year's election.

Here are the results of the 2019 Mayoral Race in Niagara Falls, according to news reports:

Robert Restaino (D) WINS with 50% of the vote - 4835 Votes

Glenn Choolokian (R) had 25% of the vote - 2441 Votes

Jeffrey Elder (O) 17% of the vote - 1635 Votes
Seth Piccirillo (O) 7% of the vote - 686 Votes
The other huge political race was for Erie County Executive where the incumbent, Marc Poloncarz has been the Erie County Executive since 2012, according to Wikipedia, was challenged by Republican Lynne Dixon.
Here are the results of the very close 2019 Erie County Executive race in Erie County, according to news reports:

Marc Poloncarz (D) WINS with 54% of the vote - 109901 votes

Lynne Dixon (R) had 46% of the vote - 95412
