Winters in Buffalo can be brutal.  Luckily there are people who are willing to make the cold days feel a little warmer, by donating their old coats.

You've heard about it in the past and it's back again this year.  Over the past 23 years, Colvin Cleaners has collected, cleaned, sorted and distributed, for free, nearly 100,000 coats to children in need throughout WNY.

Colvin Cleaners is once again going to be accepting donations of gently used winter coats for kids, teens and adults along with hats, gloves or scarves or new items for their "Coats 4 Kids" drive.

The live drive begins tomorrow morning (Tuesday, October 15) from 5-9:00 a.m. in the parking lot at Russell’s Steaks Chops & More, 6675 Transit Road, Williamsville and from 4-6:30 p.m. in front of Market in the Square in the Southgate Plaza, 950 Union Road, West Seneca.

You'll even get free breakfast from Salvatores if you donate.  Russel J. Salvatore has offered to give breakfast from 7-9 a.m. in the hotel for anyone who donates a coat.

“We are confident our generous neighbors will come through again for this much needed drive. For us, it is all worthwhile when family members pick out a coat, a hat, scarf or a pair of gloves that will keep them warm this winter. When they smile or say thank you, it puts tears in your eyes.” - Chris Billoni (Vice President of Colvin Cleaners)

Colvin Cleaners will be cleaning all the coats and redistributing them for free on three separate dates:

  • Saturday, November 9 at the Kenmore Knights of Columbus from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at True Bethel Baptist Church
  • Saturday, December 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at a location to be determined.
