The 2019 Yes In My Backyard Festival brings community organizations, block clubs, change makers, stakeholders, and neighborhood associations together on common ground to discuss and share ideas on advancing Buffalo, making Buffalo better and stronger.

Buffalo's YIMBY Festival will be brought to you by Designing to Live Sustainably (D2LS) whose mission is to "set about positive change, one block at a time" according to Buffalorising.com. D2LS promotes anything good about Buffalo. This year's theme is "Breaking Ground - Building Our Common Future.

Cedarland Development Group will be sponsoring the Festival. Dr. Fadi Dagher and the Cedarland team will dedicate it's 998 Broadway Property ( A former K-Mart) to the festival's cause, and are now looking for ideas from the community of how to redevelop the building. They are being sure to incorporate sustainability, quality of life, community, etc. according to buffalorising.com

The Buffalo YIMBY will include Rhawa Ghirmatzion as the Keynote Speaker. Ghirmatzion is the Executive Director of PUSH Buffalo. The festival will also include food trucks, entertainment, workshops, activities for children and more! The Buffalo YIMBY is free to the public and will celebrate positive change and advancement happening "in our own backyards blocks and neighborhoods" according to buffalorising.

The Buffalo YIMBY Festival will also be holding a "Breaking Ground Ideas Design Competition. There will be an awards ceremony for the winners who submit their ideas for the rebuilding of the former K-Mart building located in the Broadway Fillmore district. Entries are due today, and the ceremony will be held March 15th from 5 to 7 pm at the Broadway Market.
