There are some unsafe child car seats being sold online that you definitely want to stay away from.

WIVB reports on these car seats, which are often advertised as portable car seats -- which are popular with parents who often use ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft.

“To me, it looks like a pillow with a couple of straps on it,” says Dr. Dina Burstein of Lifespan’s Injury Prevention Center to WIVB.

Parents are cautioned to be vigilant about how their car seats are labelled.

"All car seats sold legally in the U.S. are required to have registration cards so consumers can register the product with the manufacturer. Legal car seats will also come with labels," WIVB reports.
