There have been two bats that have tested positive for rabies in Niagara County in the past year. The latest bat was located on Tonawanda Creek Road in the Town of Pendleton.

Because of the latest positive test, the County will be holding a FREE rabies clinic this week. The clinic will be Sept. 15 at the Town of Lockport Highway Garage, 6560 Dysinger Road from2 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can pre-register for the clinic here.

If you have any concerns about possible contamination or if a bat or other potentially rabid animal in your home, contact the Niagara County Health Department's Environmental Division at 439-7444.
