There are just some topics that are not ripe for jokes.

A bar in Austin, Texas called Minibar has come under fire after it placed a sign outside the establishment which said, "I like my beer like I like my violence: domestic."

A resident in town snapped a photo of the sign, put it on Instagram and the next thing you know, the watering hole is courting more controversy than customers.

To their credit, Minibar’s owners wasted no time in reacting. They issued an apology on Facebook, writing, "I assure everyone yesterday was an isolated incident and was definitely not a reflection of minibar what so ever.” The employee behind the sign has also been let go.

To further show their regret over the incident, the owners have pledged to donate $1 to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence for every domestic beer it sells in October.
