The Associated Press is reporting that Starbucks will close more than 8,000 of it's U.S. stores for a few hours on May 29, to conduct "racial bias training" for all its employees.

The announcement comes after Starbucks apologized to two men arrested in one of their stores over the weekend. Starbucks has been under criticism and facing boycotts on social media, involving an apparent race-related incident at a Philadelphia store, caught on video.

"Officials have said police officers were told the men had asked to use the store's restroom but were denied because they hadn't bought anything and they refused to leave. A Starbucks spokeswoman said Tuesday that the employee no longer works at the store, but declined to give further details."

"I watched the video, which was hard to watch. That is not what Starbucks is about. That is not representative of our mission, our values and our guiding principles," CEO Kevin Johnson said to the AP.
