Active Shooter Door Coming To Area Schools
It is a definite sign of the times. A door that will help public buildings when an active shooter situation occurs.
With the amount of school shootings that have taken place, technology has changed the way we look at safety. Classrooms in the Rochester area may soon be equipped with a door that will prevent further loss of life.
According to Metro Source News:
A ballistic barrier door meant to keep active shooters out is being tested in a Rochester school. One of only three prototypes is inside Mary Cariola Children's Center. The barrier is actually a 200-pound door that closes with a single motion to create a safe room in seconds flat.
Because these are trials, the district will not have to pay for them.
