Summer is here and no summer can be complete with out at least one good camping trip.

You can have an authentic summer get away at only the cost of food and gas to get there if you check out one of these free campsites around Western New York, according to freecampsites.net. This does not include a park entry fee, so there could possibly be a fee to get your car, truck or RV into some of the parks.

1.) Carlton Hill Multiple Use Area

Three miles north of the Village of Warsaw lies the town of Middlebury, home to Carlton Hill Multiple use area. Guests can stay up to three nights without a permit and up to 14 nights with a free permit. Fishing, hunting, trapping, scenic views, bird watching and hiking trails are a few things you can do. 2.) East Otto Forest Campground

It's about 50 minutes from Buffalo and 20 minutes from Ellicottville where you can stay up to three nights at six to 15 different campsites. This one has more of a rustic charm as your only amenity is a fire ring. There is no water or bathrooms, but that's what the woods are for – bears do it all the time and it is free!

3.) Little Rock City Camp Area

Bike Trails, hiking trails, hunting and rock climbing are a few of the thing to do while you are there. The one to five Campsites come fully loaded with fire ring and picnic table. Located in Salamanca, this is perfect for tent camping, not a lot of space for RV's or campers.

No bathrooms at this one, but some pretty nice spots to camp from what I read. One to five campsites and three of them are around Evergreen Pond and have fire rings. Your stay may exceed three days, but you will need to acquire a permit from a DEC ranger. Located in Ossian, NY.

6.) North Harmony State Forest

Located in Panama, NY there are one to five campsites for you to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing and a lot more. Each campsite includes a fire ring. Maximum RV length is 15 feet and you can stay up to three days with out a permit, 14 days with a permit.

I said a hip, hop, a hippy to the hippy... crap wrong Sugar Hill. This campsite is open year round and is part of the Six Nations Trail System. You can stay up to thee days without a permit Most the park is DYI, but the is a location where you will find parking, water, flush toilets, the fire tower, rangers cabin, and picnic area.
