10 Olympians You Should be Following on Twitter

We've only got a few more days of the 2012 Summer Olympics left, so don't waste any time adding these athletes to your Twitter feed!

Katie Ledecky -- Swimmer

At 15 years old, she’s the youngest competitor in the 2012 London Olympics, and second youngest in Team USA history. She’s probably accomplished more at age 15 than most of us will in our entire lives combined, so why not live vicariously through her on Twitter?

Missy Franklin -- Swimmer

Speaking of young swimmers, 17-year-old Missy Franklin has been winning over the country with her impressive backstroke and constant smile. The happy-go-lucky teen recently set a new world record and is on track to be one of America’s favorites.

Sam Mikulak -- Gymnast

Look at that face! How could you NOT follow him?

Lolo Jones -- Hurdler

Lolo Jones brings a nice, light-hearted touch to the games with her cheery sense of humor and casual take on life. One of her tweets apparently sparked controversy, but what DOESN’T spark controversy these days?

Nick Symmonds -- Runner

Nick Symmonds tweets regularly with both Olympic updates and his own random thoughts. He really seems to enjoy interacting with his followers. Plus, you never know what he’s going to say next, which is what makes him fun to follow. We’ll try not to hold the fact that he went on a date with Paris Hilton against him.

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh -- Volleyball-ers

Olympic partners, best friends and the only beach volleyball players that have won back-to-back gold medals (Athens ‘04 and Beijing ’08) have been through a lot together and are back in full force in 2012, aiming to bring home one last medal. Their Twitter feeds are both inspirational and supportive, which makes them a team worth following.

Ryan Lochte -- Swimmer

One of the sexiest Olympians competing this year is 27-year-old Ryan Lochte, who may be living proof that brains don’t always come with beauty. He RTs a lot of his fans, hashtags the word “jeah” a lot and thinks he’s a little too awesome. He's still worth a follow though -- you know, in case he tweets a pic of his abs or something.

Alexandra Raisman -- Gymnast

This is what the link in her tweet was referring to -- possibly the best video to come out of the 2012 Olympics so far. Aside from her endearing relationship with her family, she also does a good job of helping you experience what she’s experiencing through her tweets.

Rafalca Romney -- Horse

Even though Ann Romney’s horse, Rafalca, didn’t make it past her last event, she did win big on Twitter with a parody account poking fun at the Romneys.

Michael Phelps -- Swimmer

Because, duh.
