You’re From Where?! 5 Historical Facts About Buffalo

I live in Buffalo, and most likely you're from here — or the surrounding areas — too if you're reading this blog or listening to Jack FM on the radio. We know where Buffalo is on the map, and most likely, you will know we're the second-most populated city in the state of New York next to New York City.
But I have to tell you, it's quite alarming when I travel to places like Philadelphia or Detroit and people think Buffalo is a suburb of NYC or — even more disturbing — have never heard of Buffalo (GASP!).
Let's see, we can tell people that we originated around 1789, planted in the western area of New York state on the shores of Lake Erie, and, during the industrial boom at the dawn of the 20th century, grew into a major steel and manufacturing area. Buffalo is pretty darn historical, too, so let's explore some facts about the Nickel City.
